Our guests will have the opportunity to have a first-hand, in-depth, sensitive, exploration of New York's recovery from a tragedy that shook the world.  We will visit the Winter Garden of the World Financial Center, one of New York's most beautiful and most unique interior spaces.  Destroyed by the collapse of the World Trade Center, the Winter Garden has been restored to its original beauty and has become a major symbol of New York's recovery after 9/11.   A dramatic picture window overlooks Ground Zero.

Many memorial sites appeared spontaneously on 9/11/01.  If time permits, we will stop in Greenwich Village and visit one of the most touching of the memorial sites that still exists.   While in Greenwich Village, we will enter the 19th century by strolling along some of the narrow residential streets of the Greenwich Village rarely seen by tourists.

An architectural and cultural coach/walking exploration of Harlem:  Stroll through a charming Harlem historic district and explore the architecture and culture that has made Harlem world-famous.

Take a boat ride in New York Harbor, with its many stunning views of the Manhattan harbor skyline.  Walk around Liberty Island, marveling at the Statue of Liberty towering above.  As we view the Statue of Liberty from many very close and dramatic angles, our architectural expert will discuss the Statue's history and engineering significance.  Next, we will explore Ellis Island.  Our guests will follow in the footsteps of 17 million immigrants, whose experiences will come alive.  Guests will have time to visit, on their own, the Immigration Museum (our country's leading institution dedicated to immigrant heritage), the Immigration Wall of Honor and, time permitting, to view the very poignant film "Island of Hope, Island of Tears".

Bohemians and Beats of Greenwich Village:  A coach and walking exploration, led by a performance poet, tracing ·the Village· through three artistic and cultural revolutions.

A New York City literary tour, highlighting sites and anecdotes of various writers from Harlem to Greenwich Village.

Gardens of the Bronx:  Accompanied by a garden expert, we will explore magnificent terraced gardens located on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River and the Palisades.  We will visit the garden·s mansion, called home over the years by Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, and Arturo Toscannini.    For lunch, guests will be introduced to a number of restaurants, as well as a covered Italian Market, within a short walking distance of each other in New York City·s only remaining, authentic Little Italy.  Guests will dine, on their own, at the restaurant, or Italian Market stall, of their choice.  After lunch, we will explore, by tram and walking, the world-famous New York Botanical Garden.  Time permitting, we will visit the majestic, colonnaded ·Hall of Fame for Great Americans, the Gould Memorial Library, both designed by the famous architect Stanford White, and the only formal gardens in Central Park.

The Nooks, Crannies, and Hidden Treasures of Central Park:  Accompanied by a horticulturalist, we will explore the popular southern section of Central Park, including the pond, zoo, arsenal, mall, world-renown Bethesda Fountain, lake, the famous red-tailed hawks and the conservatory waters, Belvedere Castle, The Rambles, the Delacorte Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare Garden, a magnificent lake/skyline view, and the John Lennon memorial, Strawberry Fields.

A day seeing Magnificent Manhattan from five different angles:  1) A helicopter, 2) an aerial cable car, 3) a harbor ferry boat, 4) from underneath one of the world's most majestic bridges, and 5) a bird's eye view looking down on Times Square.
