Following
the American Revolution, by coach and boat, along the scenic Hudson River
Valley: Visit the house and grounds, steeped
in history and loaded with war relics, where General George Washington spent
almost 18 months during the Revolutionary War. For lunch, guests
will be introduced to a number of restaurants along the main street of a
lovely Victorian Village. Guests will dine, on their own, and have time
for browsing in the many antique shops lining the street. We will board
a boat for a cruise, during which we will follow the
footsteps of "Mad Anthony" Wayne, Major Andre and his relationship with
traitor Benedict Arnold. We will pass the site where the French Army which
joined Washington's Continentals for the march to Virginia to defeat Cornwallis
at Yorktown. We will sail through the Hudson Highlands, past West Point
and Bear Mountain, in the scenically most spectacular - and historic - section
of the Hudson. We will disembark our boat,
explore another lovely Victorian Village, and return to New York
by coach.

day of architecture in the scenic Hudson River Valley: Either, visit
a perfect example of a Hudson River Valley Gothic
Mansion. Or: Explore the first industrial complex
in the Thirteen Colonies, a still operating 18th century manor house, mill,
farm, and trading center. Or: Visit one of
the most spectacular family homes in the U.S. Stroll through the expansive
terraced gardens with spectacular views of the Hudson River, complimented
by an outdoor modern sculpture collection. Or: Visit
a late 1700's Hudson River Valley mansion that is the finest example of
the New York Federal period. Followed by: Visit a quaint, country chapel,
funded by the Rockefeller family, with all its' stained glass windows by
Chagall, except for the Rose Window - which is the work of Matisse! Lunch
in an early 1800s Inn. Or: Visit a lovely outdoor
sculpture garden with 120 works, sculpted by famous artists, spread
over 500 acres of rolling hills and lawns. Visit the
scenic campus of the West Point Military Academy.

tour of the home to one of America's wealthiest families in the late 19th
Century. Lunch, prepared true to the fashion of legendary chef August Escoffier
at the world-famous Culinary Institute of America, preceded by a
private tour of the Institute's facilities and campus. A private visit and
tour of one of the finest Queen Anne Estates along the Hudson River,
and home of a close friend and confidant of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
A private visit and tour of the home of 19th Century
artist Frederick Church, featuring a unique architectural marriage
of Calvert Vaux's design and Church's interpretation of the Moorish style
he fell in love with during a trip through the Middle East. A
visit to a unique collection of antique, 1900-1914 aero planes in
their natural setting. Visit the life-long home of
Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Guests will have the opportunity to explore,
on their own, the FDR Museum. Visit Val kill, Eleanor
Roosevelt's retreat, and later her home. Four Star dinner (Craig Claiborne,
New York Times) in a restored, stone tavern, built in 1797 to serve
workers and travelers on the adjacent Delaware and Hudson Canal. Guests
will have the opportunity to view the kitchen from a second floor balcony.
