• Co-founder and chairman, New York City Historic Districts Council
• Long-time Chair of the Brooklyn Heights Preservation Committee
• In large part responsible for the landmark designations of approximately 15 NYC Historic Districts
• Co-founder of “The Showpeople’s Committee to Save Radio City Music Hall”
• In large part responsible for the landmark designations of 35 Broadway Theatres, 7 theatres on 42nd St, Beacon Theatre, and Town Hall
• Member of the Board of Directors, League of Historic American Theatres
• Long-time National Conference planner for the League of Historic American Theatres and the Theatre Historical Society of America
• Creator of “Discover Broadway”, the Official Tour of Broadway, sponsored by the League of American Theatres and Producers, Inc (The Broadway League).
• Co-creator of the Art and Architecture Tour for Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
• Graduate of New York City’s Advanced Tour-Guide Enhancement Course.

In San Francisco:

• In large part responsible for the landmark designations of San Francisco’s first two historic districts.
• Consultant with the San Francisco Landmarks Board following the devastating effects of the Loma Prieta Earthquake.

In Los Angeles:

• In large part responsible for initially saving the art deco Wiltern Theatre
• Helped start the movement to save the Motion Picture Palaces along L.A.’s Broadway

In the United Kingdom:

• Consultant with the British Theatres Trust, and the British Cinema Theatre Association.

Lecturer:

• With actress Helen Hayes for four years
• In Moscow, during Gorbachov’s glasnost era
• With Cunard aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Mary 2

Before coming to New York:

• PhD in Medical Biochemistry from the Fels Cancer Research Institute, jointly of the Medical Schools of Temple University and University of Pennsylvania.
• Post-doctoral research fellowship, Albert Einstein College of Medicine

In Hollywood:

• Recipient, The League of Historic American Theatres’ “2006 Lifetime Achievement Award,” for contributions to the theatre preservation movement.
